Gilbert High School Band and Booster Group

One of the Quality of Life opportunities we have in Gilbert is our Sister City Program.  We don’t spend much money on this program, but it is a great opportunity to learn about another country.  The cultural exchange has been exciting for all of us that have had the opportunity to participate.  The town stopped paying for trips in 2001, so all the trips are paid for by the travelers but it is still exciting and a great value.  We have had many exchanges and one of the more recent ones was made by the Gilbert High School Marching Band, and Band Boosters.  The group raised all the necessary money and had a great time visiting our sister city Newtownabbey as well as cities in Ireland.  This week Brian  Meyers, the band director, Linda Richards the Booster President, Kim Cahalan Booster Secretary, Robin Norcutt Booster Volunteer Chairman and several of the kids : Carly Gieszl, Megan and Lauren Norcutt and Caleb Richards came by my office and brought me a framed picture of the band in Ireland.  The picture is proudly displayed in my office, drop by and see a picture of a great looking group of young people.
